Thanks for the shout-out to "Aloha Bobby and Rose" in your "27 Dresses" review.
I thought I was the only one who remembered that unsung Floyd Mutrux heartbreaker.

I guess I shouldn't admit that I'm old enough to have interviewed Mutrux when he came to New Orleans on a promotional tour for Aloha, a sadly under-rated and unjustly forgotten movie (with a downer ending you'd never get away with today in a major studio film). Gosh, what ever happened to Paul Le Mat? Or Dianne Hull? Hell, what is Mutrux up to? The only person from that film who's still visible is Edward James Olmos (billed as "Eddie" Olmos in Aloha).

"American Hot Wax" is one of my all-time favorite films, and I love "The Hollywood Knights" indecently
(except for "Into the Night," I don't think Michelle Pfeiffer has ever been as luminous on screen)
Not too keen on Mutrux's barely released "There Goes My Baby" from '94--his weakest film--but I digress, lol.
Also agree on Heigl: "27 Dresses" is nothing more than a formula chick flick, but it works (splendidly) because she's so damn likable. I've been a fan since "The Ringer" (another underrated movie!), but "27" proves she's the real deal. Almost makes me want to start watching "Grey's Anatomy"...
Off the topic, Joe, but I just noticed that you're a native of New Orleans.
I'm visiting NO for the first time next month, and was wondering if you had any can't-miss restaurant tips...aside from the Commander's Palace/K-Paul's/Emeril's standbys.
