The good news: That Evening Sun continues its slow, steady roll-out across the country, defying the contemporary conventional wisdom that true indie movies have short shelf lives in theatrical release. The better news: Roger Ebert has joined the chorus of those mightily impressed by this quietly powerful film, and by the career-highlight lead performance of Hal Holbrook.
Update, 5:40 p.m. 4.25: Look like other critics are adding their voices to the chorus as well.
